Request For Information Workflow

The following diagram describes the process flow of an Request For Information Document managed by PMWeb between the Contractor and the PMC/Client.

As Contractor, you will be creating the Request for Information with the question and the proposed response. It will then be sent to the PMC/Client delegate or an Engineer who will review the RFI along with the attachments in a period of time set by the contractor.

In case there is something wrong they have the possibility to return the document to the original party (or reject it) before it reach the PM.

If everything went well, the PM should review everything again and give the approval, then the Document Controller could answer the PM of the Contractor party with the resultant document.

Request For Information Workflow

1

Creation

Once you have the RFI created, you have to go to the Workflow tab and submit it.

After your Doc Controller and PM have approved your information, it is sent through the wall to the other party.

Rules can be set, so depending on the Discipline or other parameters, this question would be guided to the appropriate person within the PMC/Client.

It is good to point out that both the PM or the Engineer reviewing can return this document to the Contractor if they feel the enquire has no sense or they need more information to provide a response.

2

Final approval

At this point, the response has been sent out to you. It is responsibility of the PM to approve this response and finish the workflow.
